Plasma Cutter: It's the only choice you have for the "one gun" achievement, so I don't need to explain how strong this guy is. I might go for the Force or Ripper down the line for more variety, but at least I have an idea on what to focus on going forward.Been using Plasma Cutter / Pulse Rifle / Contact Beam / Flamethrower, but I've tried the others. Thanks in advance for your help for a DS newcomer!Įdit: Thanks everyone for your suggestions! Looks like upgrading the cutter isn't a bad idea at all (and may be the best in general). Credits also seem finite in this game, so I don't want to buy everything either.Īny upgrading/weapon choice tips? Is Air necessary for my rig? Are there enough nodes in the game to decently upgrade 3 or 4 weapons? Should I put any attention to kinetic or stasis energy? All my spare nodes I've put into the plasma cutter so far, but I do want to branch out. ![]() I've been hesitant to buy the pulse rifle (seems uninspired), line (seems too similar to the cutter) and ripper (seems unwieldy) weapons since I've read that spreading yourself too thin on weapons means they don't get upgraded as much. I bought the flamethrower (because fire seems like a natural complement to the plasma cutter) but it's a bit underwhelming and slow to use. Nodes seem to be at a premium with a multitude of upgrade options on top of being the key to open certain doors, so I just want to make this playthrough count. ![]() ![]() However, the paralysis of choice has gotten to me right now, while in the middle of Chapter 3. DS has always been a series I've wanted to get into but never got around to, and I'm finally working through my Steam backlog (I have DS2 also, and I want to get to DS3 eventually).
